About organisation
The Culture and Crafts Association of Trakai Region, autonomous and voluntary non-profit social Lithuanian organisation, disseminates information on national, Historical and cultural heritage of the Trakai Region, promotes certification of products of national heritage of the Trakai region, rallies the craftspeople of the district, implements qualification and skills improvement programmes, brings new knowledge, assists in raising entrepreneurship skills in the field of traditional crafts services and sales of produces goods. It also cooperates with communities of national minorities living in the region and creates favorable conditions to foster their culture, traditions and crafts.
Projects
Implements projects: informational portal on Trakai Region (https://trakukrastas.lt), “In a century’s palms”, “Development of cultural, culinary rural tourism adopting French experience, development of skills and dissemination of experience”. Organises traditional events in Trakai: “Shrove Tuesday in Trakai (since 2009), “The Fair in the City Hall” in the frame of the Trakai City Festival programme (since 2009), “Kopūstinė’s Fair – Assumption Day in Trakai” (since 2009), charity event “Let’s bring happiness, joy and smiles for children on Christmas” (since 2014). The association implements various projects on cultural cooperation with Poland and Belarus, organises international trainings and seminars in Latvia, Belarus, Poland, Turkey, Georgia. Carries ethnological researches, publishes publications.
