About organisation

It is an interactive experiential open-air museum in Družai, Širvintos district. The founders hold excursions for children through story-telling on living history. The experiential excursions take place in natural environment, an ancient Baltic village set in the river valley. Thousand year old events are analysed via active, sensoric exercises and games. Participants transform into their ancestors and experience their life styles from within, analyse the ancient attire, arms of warriors, cook food, learn crafts and ancient games. From a multitude of contextual learning activities, the kind of small fragments of the painting from Middle Ages, the children put their newly acquired knowledge and experiences into a coherent practically experienced life-style history of ancient Baltic people.
